Garden Adventures Nursery
Garden Adventures Nursery is a full service garden center featuring:
At Garden Adventures we believe nothing is more beautiful than nature. A yard can be a work of art. Food from one's own garden can nourish the body and soul. We're more than a garden center. We're passionate about what we do.
That passion manifests itself in our commitment to you. At Garden Adventures, it will always be about someone listening. Someone who will create a border treatment that will instill (just a little) envy in the neighbors. Someone who heard you say lavender, not purple, lilacs. Someone who understands it's always about your dreams and then goes one better.
It's a connection that goes beyond your purchase and becomes a lifelong relationship. We understand we are improving your investment as well as your quality of life. We're dedicated to making the outdoors as rewarding for you as it has been for us.

Note from George Deatz: It is not often that a person can develop, introduce, and bring to market their own plant but Dow Whiting of Nixa has done just that. Dow along with his wife Linda are members of Friends of the Garden and own Garden Adventures Nursery, Nixa. Following is Dow's very interesting and informative article. This was also published in the FOG Blog on November 23, 2009.
In the spring of 1997, at our family-owned nursery in south west Missouri , I happened upon an interesting mutation. Genetic mutations are not uncommon in the plant world, however; many are twisted, gnarled , deformed growths that require nurturing to bring out the beauty. This one was different, it was a graceful, soft textured growth that I immediately fell in love with. Like all love affairs, this one has had its trials and tribulations, but true love never fades. This is our story.
