This garden is located just north of the Dr. Bill Roston Native Butterfly House and across the walk from the Wildflower Garden nestled near a ceder tree.
Our native Missouri columbine is the Red Columbine (Aquilegia canadensis), which is actually a spring wildflower which occurs in rocky woods, slopes, ledges and open areas throughout the State.

Designed in 2008, this is a specialist garden expressing the delicacy of columbines both in foliage and blooms. They are grouped according to color: cardinal red, red, red and yellow, white, light purple and deep purple. The garden is designed to show the variety of color in the columbine plant. The garden is in bloom in late May and June and is a partial shade garden.
