Evenings at Nathaniel Greene
When we were discussing the new website for Friends of the Garden, we wanted there to be a feature where some of our members could publish their photographs of the gardens and arboretum.
We hope this becomes a well-used and frequently visited area of the site. Come back often to see what new photo series have been posted to the site.
I was exposed to nature at a young age. My childhood was filled with canoe trips on the James River, close to a secluded place in the woods I called home, and many weekends camping with friends during high school. However, my true love and admiration for nature, in all it's beauty, began after a trip to Costa Rica. I spent months traveling through the country. I saw beautiful and exotic flowers and lush rain forests with the prettiest hues of green I'd ever seen. That's also when I fell in love with butterflies! I've been a nature lover ever since.
Soon, I began admiring nature in artistic ways. I grew a passion for floral design, making art out of nature. When I visited Nathaniel Greene/Close Memorial Park, I found that it is the perfect place to pursue another passion, floral and nature photography. I look forward to the changing seasons at the park. There will be many wonderful photographs to share.
