Southwest Missouri Camera Club

Southwest Missouri Camera Club LogoLocated in Springfield, Missouri, the Southwest Missouri Camera Club has been an active organization for a quarter of a century. Organized by a group of amateur and professional photography enthusiasts, the club has grown in membership through the years.

Club Members

Club members come from all walks of life, with varying degrees of photographic experience - from the novice to the professional and everything in between. The most important aspect of the organization is it's members. We learn from each other by sharing our photographic experiences and skills. Plus, it's just plain fun to share camaraderie with other photographers (who else will listen to you talk endlessly about f-stops and help you figure out why your last sure fire picture didn't quite turn out?). Club activities go on throughout the year and serve as a forum for the membership.

Membership

It costs nothing to attend club meetings. You may visit as often as you please. But you must be a paid member in order to enter competitions, go on field trips or participate in any other club activity, of which a nominal fee of $25.00 is charged annually, prorated after July 1.

Monthly Meetings

There are two types of Club meetings. Our primary, or "4th Thursday" Meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of every month. These meetings are more structured, and entail official club business and activities such as Competition and Scavenger Hunt results, as well a program on some area of photography, often times with a guest speaker. Our "2nd Thursday" Meetings are or course held on the second Thursday of each month and are more informal, usually involving some program, seminar or discussion on photography. All meetings are at at 7:00 p.m. and are generally held at available Springfield-Greene County branch library meeting rooms. Visitors are always welcome and do not have to belong to the club to attend. All Club meetings center around a variety of photographic topics and provide plenty of opportunity to share photographic experiences.

Most meetings are usually held at either the Brentwood Library or The Library Center. Check the the Home page of the Southwest Missouri Camera Club  website for location and time of upcoming meetings.
